Preschool, sitting, standing and other milestones

8/24
She won't eat food, prefers leaves and grass.

8/26
We pulled out Nora's 6-9 month clothes recently. Maura has claimed one of the tubs. It's the perfect solution to keep Nora from grabbing the tablet or whatever she playing with. At least for now.

8/28
We had a play date a the park with the families we will be doing preschool with. Nora and Maya enjoyed swinging. We then had a picnic lunch. I turned my back for 30 seconds to talk to another mom about the curriculum. Nora somehow got Maya's applesauce pouch, got the lid off, squeezed it all over the blanket and then was tasting it. She also got herself into sitting position today.

8/29
Lots of fun at the kiddy amusement park with friends. Maya loves the carousel. Last time we were there she liked the roller coaster. This time she wasn't so sure about it. But at least she's not terrified of the carousel still.

8/30
We finally got the crib put together. Nora's not quite sure what to think of it. She's battling a little cold so we will probably wait a few days for her congestion to clear before transitioning her.

9/1
Nora tried butternut squash today. She didn't really like it any more than the rice cereal. But she did enjoy playing with it.

9/3
Maya started "preschool" today. We are doing a co-op sort of thing with 7-8 other kids/moms. We divided up into two groups for now and the mom's take turns teaching. This month we are learning about bodies. We measured them all today. Maya has grown about 2.5 inches in the last 6 months. She was 40.5 inches and weighed 34 lbs.

Nora pulled herself up today. I put her in the bassinet while I got dressed. She was interested in the nightlight/white noise thing. She reached up to check it out and next thing I knew she was on her feet. I guess we got the crib together just in time.

9/4
Thursday pictures with Nora.

While I was taking pictures Maya wanted to play in her pool with her water guns. Next thing I know, she's running around naked and trying to get everyone wet.

9/5
Nora's first tooth popped through today. She's been constantly chewing on her thumb and it felt kind of swollen in there so I thought it was coming. She doesn't really drool much though. Kind of odd. It's the front bottom one on her left. The right one is probably coming soon too.

We went swimming today at our friends pool. The girls wore their matching swimsuits (since Nora's finally able to wear sunscreen). Maya didn't want to take off her floaty for the picture. (Those floaty things are great) Nora kept grabbing it and Maya kept freaking out because "Nora is trying to rip it off of me" complete with a dramatic reenactment. She's a bit dramatic these days. I've heard of 3 year olds called threenagers. Sometimes I believe it.

We stayed and had pizza, cookies, and ice cream with our friends. They have three girls. It was kind of fun to have 5 little girls running/crawling around. Nora tried a mum mum rice cracker thing. She wasn't quite sure of it.

Nora's yuck face. It's really serious if accompanied by a shiver

Nora's second bottom tooth popped through today.

9/10
The last few days, Nora has been perfecting getting into sitting. She will crawl/army crawl to a toy then sit up, play with the toy briefly, flop over and crawl to the next item of interest. She can get around pretty well. She doesn't yet realize that she can crawl long distances though. She will crawl to toys near her. But she won't crawl across the room without a path of toys along the way. And if I leave the room, she doesn't yet know that she can follow me.
