As I mentioned before, Maya was sick all week. She was still reasonably happy during the day. The night was rough. The night before her birthday we snuggled on the couch all night because she would scream any time I put her down. I didn't sleep much, much like the same night a year ago. Since it was unlike her previous colds, I called  her pediatrician first thing in the morning. The advice nurse said she sounds like she has a cold/croup, to keep an eye on her breathing, and to go ahead with her well baby check on the 23rd. Since I was up all night and Derek didn't get much sleep either, he worked from home so that he could help me out when needed. We had a lazy sort of day. Maya opened presents after her morning nap and played with her new toys most of the day. We took a short walk around the neighborhood in the afternoon. And enjoyed cupcakes in the evening.
